What a huge final day! Thank you for your support and messages of encouragement. We are certainly feeling the love.
Feeling Good
It's a beautiful day here in Brisbane and the start of a 4 day weekend if you can believe it! Some hard earned time with family and friends. To celebrate the final day of the campaign we've decided to remove any limits on the perfect pairs so that everyone can share the Audeara experience.
Stretch Goal: Some more information
There have been some questions raised around the intention of the stretch goal we announced and reached and I would like to address any concerns about that here.
Some have said the purpose of the goal was simply to make money. I am very sorry that it came across that way as it is certainly not the case. To redesign the external casing, develop further prototypes with the manufacturers and redesign the PCB and firmware to allow for wired listening with the personalised profile is an expense that was not factored in to our initial pricing and costs for manufacture and shipping.
Looking back on the journey perhaps what we should have done was set a higher initial requirement to account for the likely design changes that come from engaging with an interested and active community. I can assure you that turning a profit is not the focus of this campaign. We were hoping to cover the costs of developing and shipping a world class product while using the platform to help spread our message and, mind the pun, kickstart, our company on to the world stage.

Stretch Goal Reached! Down to the Wire!

The Audeara Team are proud to announce that with the support of the Kickstarter community we are now able to offer everyone personliased profiles with for their wired devices!!
A big final push has seen us reach our stretch goal with a day remaining, down to the wire!
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement, and of course for supporting the project and pledging.
We had originally designed and built world class bluetooth noise cancelling headphones with an option for wired analogue usage if the battery ran down. After the response we got from the Kickstarter community once we launched the project we realised that the technology has applications for a much wider audience who prefer/are required to use wired function.
This experience has shaped what has been a truly incredible Kickstarter journey. Beyond the ability to scale and manufacture our headphones we have now improved the overall product and we wouldn't have driven so hard to achieve this without the user feedback we received.
We will release the updated design changes once they are finalised.

Feeling Reflective but Wired In

How time flies
It's hard to believe that this time next week the Kickstarter journey will be over. It's been a truly incredible journey and we're feeling very proud of the hard work the team has put in and thankful for the incredible support we've received.
With Alex in Shenzhen it takes us back to November of last year when we first took the trip to start work with our manufacturers and were sitting next to Alan who was the first non Audeara team member to try Audeara. More than that it was our first use on a plane and the first person to say he had to buy a pair!

After some good old fashioned hard work and a trip to square things away with our manufacturers we're glad to say that the smarts for the wired function had their first successful test run! The outcome was incredible and Alex and the team in Shenzhen are really proud of how well they've pushed to get it ready. Now all we need is your support in this last week to make it a reality. Getting the tech to work in a development setting is one thing, the rebuild of the hardware to ship it around the world is quite another so please share far and wide!
All it takes is convincing one other person that you've made a great choice in backing Audeara and getting them to join us on the journey to personalisation!

Get it made!
We have some really exciting news to share with you this week – a development we hadn’t originally planned on, but was always in the backs of our minds. We’re introducing wired functionality – the option to listen via your personalised hearing profile using an auxiliary cable, as well as the latest widely supported Bluetooth capability.
We had originally intended for Bluetooth to be the primary source of connection – the wired function serving as a backup incase you lose battery life. We’ve had many of our backers request this functionality to be included as a standard inclusion – you spoke up and we heard you, so let’s get it in motion.
Introducing three listening functions
- Personalised profile via Bluetooth
- Personalised profile with audio cable
- Analogue – listen without a hearing profile aka default settings
Implementing this feature does come with additional costs that go beyond our initial planning, so in true Kickstarter fashion, we’re updating our trajectory to include a stretch goal.

We’re excited to announce our $400,000 stretch goal for wired personalisation!
You asked for it, we’ll deliver
Alex, our savvy CTO, is on a plane to Shenzhen as we speak – on his way to meet with our manufacturers and finalise the additional tooling requirements needed to implement this wired functionality feature. We're extremely focused on this goal and will continue to work very hard to get this feature ready for our July shipping date.
To ensure we don't sacrifice any quality, $400K will allow us to cover the costs of the additional tooling, testing and production time. The only risk we face is the slight chance of a small delay in production, but with Alex on the ground working with our suppliers, and James soon to join him, we will have the information we need first-hand to seamlessly execute this goal without error.
We'll be providing progress updates to our backers and general public on the daily, as we countdown the final days of this incredible journey – the start of the Audeara headphone company.
