Hi Everyone!
Sorry its been a little while since our last update! We have been working hard with our manufacturers on your A-01s and we are still on track to ship in October!
Alex has been based in Shenzhen for the past couple of weeks and will be there until the production run is ready. He has been sending us updates daily and we have a bunch to share with you:
Our metal parts have been approved for pre-production. No changes to be made, the de-bossed model number looks great and the parts are coming out of the tool with no issues. Our plastic parts have been approved to apply textured finish. This means the tools have been sent away to another factory to be etched. The fit and form of the parts are all good, they just need to be textured so they look better. Estimated to be finished this week.
Now the shape of the headphones aren't going to change - we have sent some units to be tested for Bluetooth, CE, FCC, etc to ensure quality compliance. This was initially going to be done with some of the pre-production run units but having sent them away last week should save some time. We estimate to get approval feedback next week.
Our packaging has been approved for pre-production. The box form is complete and we will have our copy confirmed by the end of today. The colours are slightly off because they use a different printer for samples compared to production but this won't be an issue for the final run. Finally, our carry case has been approved for production.

T2 Tooling Review

Thank you for your patience as we reviewed the T2 samples before providing the update.
We received the latest samples from our manufactures for review before approving large scale production. Based on this review we have made the decision that the quality of the samples produced do not meet level you, as backers, deserve and further refinement is necessary. Alex's video below goes in to detail and shows the project planning process we are undertaking to get the headphones ready for you.
Our goal is first week October.
We have been contacted by a number of people who have specific events they had hoped to use the headphones for and we of course had hoped to meet the original deadline and get the headphones for those events. We are confident that the refinements we're making will improve the overall product and are absolutely necessary.

A Supersize Update

Hi everyone!
It's been a crazy couple of weeks since the last time we talked, so today we're bringing you a supersize update with Neil and Sara from Clandestine Design Group.
Neil and Sara are the amazing industrial designers behind our super stylish A-01s. We managed to snag a couple of minutes with them so they could talk us through what's happening in the final manufacturing stages. Watch the video above to learn more about our off-tool sample, known as T1, and what's coming in the next couple of weeks. In the past week we also added our first (and now second!) video to the Audeara Youtube Channel! Everything's Coming Up Audeara!

First off, wow - thanks for the support on our last update! We appreciate your patience as we move through the final stages of pre-production and check everything is ready to go for our August launch. If you missed our post where CTO Alex talked through the remaining manufacturing timeline, make sure to check it out here.
Today we've got a quick update from James, telling us about exactly what Audeara's got planned for the next couple of weeks. He and Alex are heading off to Hong Kong next week for the RISE technology conference and will pop into Shenzhen to oversee the final stages of manufacturing.
In August, we will then be heading down to Melbourne for the Technology and Gadget Expo. We'll have a booth for guests to try the A-01s and get a taste of the Audeara experience, so let us know if you'll be coming along! The team is really looking forward to hanging out with some of Australia's coolest tech companies.
