In today’s update, CTO Alex gives you a rundown of our expected timeline for the final stages of tooling and production. We’ve had lots of questions in the past couple of weeks about our launch date, and if everything goes smoothly, we’re hoping to ship in late August!
This week we also found out we’ll be heading to the RISE tech conference in Hong Kong from July 11-13. We’re excited to join some of the world’s largest companies and coolest startups for a couple of days where we’ll get access to awesome networking and media opportunities. Make sure to come say hi if you're around!

We're Back in Brisbane!

After an exciting trip to China, the team is back on home soil and working harder than ever in the lead up to our pre-production run. You’ve seen all of the awesome updates coming to the A-01 headphones, including our fancy new anodised aluminium armature that’s more durable than our previous plastic. You can see a 3D interactive preview of our new design here - just make sure to wait a minute for the page to load properly.
Unfortunately though, this does mean we’ve had to push back the release date to accommodate extra testing – but you can be sure it’ll be worth it!
We also wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for filling out our surveys – we’ve been reading over the responses and loved finding out more about what’s important to you. We particularly enjoyed reading about the first song everyone plans on listening to through their Audeara headphones, and have actually created a playlist on Spotify with everyone’s answers – check it out here. There were quite a few double ups, with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody being the most popular so far (we don’t blame you!). We’re still adding to it though, so make sure to follow the Audeara account and keep your eyes peeled for more cool content coming your way.

And while we've got your attention, we want to share the love with some other cool projects coming out of Kickstarter below.
In this update, our CTO Alex takes us through the first pre-production sample aka the golden sample! We'll be using this headset to test the quality of the entire run. We've also made some cosmetic updates we'd like to share with you. Alex walks you through some features, like ANC and Bluetooth capability (you know you can make phone calls with your Audeara headphones, right?) and some design tweaks such as our new embossed logo and replacing plastic with aluminium. We're hella excited to bring these babies home and get you all listening in with Audeara's perfect sound.

We will send an email with a special link to BackerKit surveys today .
It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for fulfilling your rewards.
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like.
If you changed your pledge amount or added additional funds:
The system works by giving you a total in your account that you can use to purchase goods. If you pledged for an early bird special for 1 set of headphones then took advantage of our perfect pairs deal by increasing your pledge (thanks!) you will see additional credit in your account and you can then select to add another pair of headphones to your account. Please keep in mind that depending on the amount you pledged you may have a dollar or two left in your account based on the pricing, if that's the case the simplest thing to do is drop the dollars in to the tip jar. You can always add more and grab a shirt or a dongle!
You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email! If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here: audeara.backerkit.com. If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account.

Because of your faith and support, we have well surpassed our target with over 1,500 backers behind us! None of this could have been possible without you, so give yourselves a pat on the back – we are forever grateful.
Now that our campaign is over, and we have exceeded our stretch goal, we are proud to announce that the first official run of Audeara A-01’s will be delivered by July 2017!

To update you, our CTO Alex has been in Shenzhen, overseeing the initial production phase of our precious A-01’s. All necessary steps to implement wired functionality are in place and we’re good to go!
